The Ford Falcon is a car manufactured by Ford since 1960. It was once manufactured in the USA, Canada, Argentina, Mexico, Australia and Chile, and was also assembled in many other countries. The Falcon remains Ford's most popular model in Australia, which is also the only country in which new Falcons are now built. If sales figures from all countries are combined the Falcon is one of the biggest selling names in world automotive history.
Engine Management:
The EF Falcon used Ford's newer EEC-V PCM (Power train Control Module) giving
substantially more processing power than the module it replaced - which when
used in conjunction with the new knock sensor allowed the substantially higher
compression ratio mentioned above. The EEC-V was a direct result of Ford's
Formula One experience with Benetton at the time and except for the software
peripherals, the engine electronic controls used the same basic circuitry as
used in the highest level of motor sport at the time.
